Get ready for Space Chase, this year’s exciting Summer Reading Challenge at your local library! Children aged 3-12 are invited on a mission to read six library books over the summer holidays, with fun rewards and extra activities along the way. It’s a great way to keep up reading skills during the long break. Little brothers and sisters can also join in as there’s a special mini-challenge for children under three. Could you be an on-call firefighter?

More on-call firefighters are needed to swell the ranks at our Linton Fire Station. Cambridgeshire Fire

and Rescue Service is hoping to encourage those who live or work within five minutes of the Balsham

Road on-call fire station to consider taking up the role to help out their community.

On-call firefighters are fully trained professionals who save lives in their communities alongside their

day-to-day jobs and home lives. They carry a pager and respond to emergency incidents as and when

they happen.  You will receive an annual wage reflecting the time you are able to commit along with

additional payments for attending drill night and incidents.

We also offer

•           Paid holiday

•           Pension

•           Opportunities for progression

•           Employee Assistance Programme

So, are you up for the challenge? If you are interested in becoming an on-call firefighter at Linton,

come along to meet the crew and learn more about the role any Wednesday evening between 7pm – 9pm.
